Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Gull Alarmed by Jamie Wyeth. It changed hands for a price of USD 7,560.00 (€ 6,697.97) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jamie Wyeth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pumpkinhead–Self-Portrait in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,690,000.00 (€ 1,517,736.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gull Alarmed von Jamie Wyeth zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 7.560,00 (€ 6.697,97) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jamie Wyeth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pumpkinhead–Self-Portrait im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.690.000,00 (€ 1.517.736,87).
