Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Study in Glen Quoich, Mar Forest - after a gale by James William Giles was sold in the THE SCOTTISH SALE - EDINBURGH auction at Christies in London in October 2000. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,290.00 (€ 5,623.55). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James William Giles achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British Mr. J. A. Sandiland'S King Charles Spaniels in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 205,000.00 (€ 139,569.72).
