Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by James Wells Champney could be acquired at Christies in New York in December 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The House Sale auction, the work Petit Trianon changed hands for USD 600.00 (€ 454.65) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Wells Champney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman Seated Holding Lilies in October 2015 with an auction result of USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,226.23).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von James Wells Champney konnte im Dezember 2006 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The House Sale wechselte die Arbeit Petit Trianon für USD 600,00 (€ 454,65) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Wells Champney erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Woman Seated Holding Lilies im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.875,00 (€ 6.226,23).
