Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The St. Sophia Gate, Constantinople by James Webb was sold in the The Orientalist Sale auction at Sothebys in London in April 2020. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 35,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 40,000.00 (€ 46,013.69). Admittedly, works by James Webb have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ansicht von Köln mit dem unvollendeten Dom in May 2020 with an auction result of EUR 185,938.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The St. Sophia Gate, Constantinople von James Webb wurde im April 2020 in der Auktion The Orientalist Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 35.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 40.000,00 (€ 46.013,69) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Webb auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ansicht von Köln mit dem unvollendeten Dom im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 185.938,00.
