Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Koblenz at the junction of the Rhine and the Moselle by James Webb was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November 2020. It changed hands for a price of GBP 4,845.00 (€ 5,408.66) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Webb achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ansicht von Köln mit dem unvollendeten Dom in May 2020 with an auction result of EUR 185,938.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Koblenz at the junction of the Rhine and the Moselle von James Webb kam im November 2020 bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 4.845,00 (€ 5.408,66) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Webb erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ansicht von Köln mit dem unvollendeten Dom im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 185.938,00.
