Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tumble at the Ditch by James Ward was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,142.00 (€ 1,910.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Ward achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Terrier, Stoat And Dead Rabbit In A Rocky Landscape in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 512,000.00 (€ 752,192.71).
