Sold at the lower estimate price
The work Mrs Arbuthnot's cow, Maria by James Ward was sold in the The Ross Collection From Knockmore, Enniskerry, Wicklow, Part II auction at Christies in London in November 2019. The result of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,348.49) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Ward achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Terrier, Stoat And Dead Rabbit In A Rocky Landscape in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 512,000.00 (€ 752,192.71).
