Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A farmyard scene by James Ward was sold in the Old Masters Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2021. The price achieved of GBP 9,450.00 (€ 11,082.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Ward achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Terrier, Stoat And Dead Rabbit In A Rocky Landscape in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 512,000.00 (€ 752,192.71).
