The work Resting Bather by James Stroudley was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Christies in London in May 2005. It achieved a price of GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,594.42), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 54%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by James Stroudley; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Abstract sold at auction in March 2004 with the realized price of GBP 1,792.50 (€ 2,683.21).
