Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Important British Paintings, which included the work Old Houses By The Wensum by James Stark. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,480.25) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Stark - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Wooded Landscape With Figures On A Track, A Cottage Beyond, which sold at auction in June 2006 for GBP 24,000.00 (€ 34,727.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Important British Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Old Houses By The Wensum von James Stark zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.480,25) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von James Stark mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Wooded Landscape With Figures On A Track, A Cottage Beyond beobachtet, die im Juni 2006 für GBP 24.000,00 (€ 34.727,60) versteigert wurde.
