Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures & 20th Century British Art, which included the work British Costal Scene With Fisher Folk by James Stark. The price achieved of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,291.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Stark achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Wooded Landscape With Figures On A Track, A Cottage Beyond in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 24,000.00 (€ 34,727.60).

Im März 2009 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures & 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit British Costal Scene With Fisher Folk von James Stark zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.291,49) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Stark erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Wooded Landscape With Figures On A Track, A Cottage Beyond im Juni 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 24.000,00 (€ 34.727,60).
