Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2014 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work A fisherman on a river, with eel nets on the opposite bank by James Stark. The price achieved of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,559.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by James Stark have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Wooded Landscape With Figures On A Track, A Cottage Beyond in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 24,000.00 (€ 34,727.60).

Im Juni 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A fisherman on a river, with eel nets on the opposite bank von James Stark zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.250,00 (€ 6.559,62) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Stark auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Wooded Landscape With Figures On A Track, A Cottage Beyond im Juni 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 24.000,00 (€ 34.727,60).
