Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Portrait of a gentleman dressed as a hunter by James Sant. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of USD 812.50 (€ 661.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Sant achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of the Misses Wilson of Tranby Croft, full-lengths, one standing, in pale blue satin dresses, in a garden in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 77,675.00 (€ 121,635.05).
