Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of Algernon F.E. Smith, Aged Three by James Sant was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2019. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,372.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Sant achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of the Misses Wilson of Tranby Croft, full-lengths, one standing, in pale blue satin dresses, in a garden in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 77,675.00 (€ 121,635.05).
