Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Venetian Cape by James Ferrier Pryde was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,074.34). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Ferrier Pryde achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Red Ruin in September 2011 with an auction result of GBP 91,250.00 (€ 106,007.14).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Venetian Cape von James Ferrier Pryde im Juni 2011 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.074,34) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Ferrier Pryde erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Red Ruin im September 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 91.250,00 (€ 106.007,14).
