Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Still life with fruits by James Poulton was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in June 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 20,000.00 – 25,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 16,000.00 (€ 1,747.26). Other works by James Poulton have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in January 2003 by the work Grapes, plums, peaches, a pear, a pineapple, a chilli, a melon, and a wicker basket, on a wooden ledge at GBP 1,645.00 (€ 2,519.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Still life with fruits von James Poulton im Juni 2014 bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 20.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 16.000,00 (€ 1.747,26) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von James Poulton wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Januar 2003 die Arbeit Grapes, plums, peaches, a pear, a pineapple, a chilli, a melon, and a wicker basket, on a wooden ledge mit GBP 1.645,00 (€ 2.519,50).
