Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Grapes On A Vine With A Chilli, A Pomegranate, A Cherry And Morning Glory In A Classical Landscape by James Poulton was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2002. It changed hands for a price of GBP 763.75 (€ 1,246.36) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Poulton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Grapes, plums, peaches, a pear, a pineapple, a chilli, a melon, and a wicker basket, on a wooden ledge, which sold at auction in January 2003 for GBP 1,645.00 (€ 2,519.50).

Die Arbeit Grapes On A Vine With A Chilli, A Pomegranate, A Cherry And Morning Glory In A Classical Landscape von James Poulton kam im Februar 2002 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 763,75 (€ 1.246,36) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von James Poulton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Grapes, plums, peaches, a pear, a pineapple, a chilli, a melon, and a wicker basket, on a wooden ledge beobachtet, die im Januar 2003 für GBP 1.645,00 (€ 2.519,50) versteigert wurde.
