Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of two sportsmen in a landscape with a spaniel by James Millar was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Bonhams in London in October 2020. The price achieved of GBP 2,295.00 (€ 2,548.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Millar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of A Gentleman, Full-Length, In A Green Coat, Holding A Gun, Two Dogs And A Partridge At His Feet, In A Wooded Landscape in May 2006 with an auction result of GBP 28,800.00 (€ 42,038.62).
