Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sketch of Valour, a bay horse; and three sketches of dark bay horses by James Lynwood Palmer was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2005. It changed hands for a price of GBP 5,760.00 (€ 8,503.57) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Lynwood Palmer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Horses in an extensive landscape with figures beyond, which sold at auction in December 2008 for USD 35,000.00 (€ 25,145.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sketch of Valour, a bay horse; and three sketches of dark bay horses von James Lynwood Palmer kam im Mai 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 5.760,00 (€ 8.503,57) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von James Lynwood Palmer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Horses in an extensive landscape with figures beyond beobachtet, die im Dezember 2008 für USD 35.000,00 (€ 25.145,48) versteigert wurde.
