In May 2000 Christies in London held the auction Irish Pictures, which included the work Across the canal from Herbert Place, Dublin by James le Jeune. The price achieved of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,369.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. Other works by James le Jeune have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2001 the work The Market at Annecy, France was auctioned for GBP 9,987.50 (€ 16,744.27).
