Despite a disappointment, a good price for James Holdsworth
When the work Mandy Rice Davis; Christine Keeler by James Holdsworth was auctioned at Sothebys in London in September 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 378.00 (€ 439.81). Despite this disappointing result, Mandy Rice Davis; Christine Keeler is the most expensive artwork by James Holdsworth that we have observed at auction so far.
