Auction result well in line with expectations
The work West cliff looking towards the entrance to Poole Harbour by James Hayllar was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2008. The price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 785.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Hayllar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Only Daughter in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 41,825.00 (€ 61,063.18).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 785,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Hayllar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Only Daughter im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 41.825,00 (€ 61.063,18).
