The work Unknown by James Ferguson was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2009. It achieved a price of GBP 812.50 (€ 876.16), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 35%. Admittedly, works by James Ferguson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Charles Edward Stuart in May 2021 with an auction result of GBP 5,100.00 (€ 5,933.97).

Die Arbeit Unknown von James Ferguson kam im März 2009 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 812,50 (€ 876,16) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 35%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Ferguson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Charles Edward Stuart im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.100,00 (€ 5.933,97).
