Admittedly, works by James Duffield Harding have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A crowded merchantman in the Channel amidst other shipping in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,180.58).
