The price achieved of USD 5,400.00 (€ 4,163.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James David Smillie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lake Placid and the Adirondack Mountains from Whiteface in May 2004 with an auction result of USD 130,700.00 (€ 106,982.07).
