Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by James Casebere could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Photographs auction, the work Two Tunnels From The Right (Vertical) changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,731.32) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by James Casebere have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Arcade in September 2013 with an auction result of USD 75,000.00 (€ 55,411.90).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von James Casebere konnte im September 2019 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Photographs wechselte die Arbeit Two Tunnels From The Right (Vertical) für USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.731,32) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Casebere auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Arcade im September 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 55.411,90).
