Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mount Cenis, with a view of an alpine village with two elderly figures in the foreground by James Burrell Smith was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings auction at Christies in London in October 2002. It changed hands for a price of GBP 799.00 (€ 1,263.88) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Burrell Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Anglers by a rapid; and A waterfall in a mountainous landscape in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,715.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mount Cenis, with a view of an alpine village with two elderly figures in the foreground von James Burrell Smith wurde im Oktober 2002 in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings bei Christies in London versteigert.
