Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Figures on the banks of the Rhine at Cologne by James Burrell Smith was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,256.56) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Burrell Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Anglers by a rapid; and A waterfall in a mountainous landscape in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,715.77).

Die Arbeit Figures on the banks of the Rhine at Cologne von James Burrell Smith kam im Oktober 2007 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 875,00 (€ 1.256,56) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
