Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2008 Christies in London held the auction Maritime, which included the work The Maiden Queen; and Golden Evening (illustrated) by James Brereton. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 795.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Brereton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cornish breakers in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,344.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Maiden Queen; and Golden Evening (illustrated) von James Brereton zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 795,03) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Brereton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cornish breakers im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.344,67).
