The work 'The Winged Racer' by James Brereton was sold in the The Marine Sale auction at Bonhams in April this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,785.00 (€ 2,034.32), 49% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by James Brereton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cornish breakers in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,344.67).

Die Arbeit 'The Winged Racer' von James Brereton wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion The Marine Sale bei Bonhams versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.785,00 (€ 2.034,32) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Brereton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cornish breakers im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.344,67).
