Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2001 Christies in London held the auction The Irish Sale, Part II, including the Studio Collection of, which included the work Figure beneath a Tree in an extensive Landscape by James Arthur O'Connor. The price achieved of GBP 2,585.00 (€ 4,333.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Arthur O'Connor achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Ford - A mountainous river landscape with a figure with a wagon and horses at a ford in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 33,460.00 (€ 50,202.32).

Im Mai 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Irish Sale, Part II, including the Studio Collection of durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figure beneath a Tree in an extensive Landscape von James Arthur O'Connor zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.585,00 (€ 4.333,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Arthur O'Connor erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Ford - A mountainous river landscape with a figure with a wagon and horses at a ford im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 33.460,00 (€ 50.202,32).
