Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2006 Sothebys in London held the auction Gleneagles Pictures, which included the work Portrait Of Mary Carrie by James Archer. The price achieved of GBP 8,160.00 (€ 12,134.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by James Archer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Betrothal of Robert Burns and Highland Mary in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 74,090.00 (€ 108,169.06).
