Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 151,200.00 (€ 123,995.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jakob Philipp Hackert - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Port of Salerno from Vietri, with herdsmen and other figures in the foreground, with the Castello di Arechi beyond and shipping vessels in the bay, which sold at auction in July 2015 for GBP 338,500.00 (€ 479,879.31).
