This artwork by Jakob Philipp Hackert achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2020. In the Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction, the work Mountainous river landscape with figures ambling in the foreground sold for GBP 11,340.00 (€ 12,667.79) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jakob Philipp Hackert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Port of Salerno from Vietri, with herdsmen and other figures in the foreground, with the Castello di Arechi beyond and shipping vessels in the bay in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 338,500.00 (€ 479,879.31).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jakob Philipp Hackert erzielte im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection wurde die Arbeit Mountainous river landscape with figures ambling in the foreground für GBP 11.340,00 (€ 12.667,79) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jakob Philipp Hackert erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Port of Salerno from Vietri, with herdsmen and other figures in the foreground, with the Castello di Arechi beyond and shipping vessels in the bay im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 338.500,00 (€ 479.879,31).
