In July 2018 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work A distant view of the Temple of Segesta surrounded by hills by Jakob Philipp Hackert. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,708.39), 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jakob Philipp Hackert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Port of Salerno from Vietri, with herdsmen and other figures in the foreground, with the Castello di Arechi beyond and shipping vessels in the bay in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 338,500.00 (€ 479,879.31).

Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Port of Salerno from Vietri, with herdsmen and other figures in the foreground, with the Castello di Arechi beyond and shipping vessels in the bay im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 338.500,00 (€ 479.879,31).
