In October 2010 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings, which included the work Waking Dream by Jaime Pacena II. The result of HKD 40,000.00 (€ 3,713.83) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jaime Pacena II - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Other Lover, which sold at auction in October 2011 for HKD 87,500.00 (€ 8,080.59).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2010 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Waking Dream von Jaime Pacena II zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 40.000,00 (€ 3.713,83) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jaime Pacena II mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Other Lover beobachtet, die im Oktober 2011 für HKD 87.500,00 (€ 8.080,59) versteigert wurde.
