Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Triomphe by Jacques Villon was sold in the Collection de Monsieur & Madame Robert Schmit | Œuvres choisies – Session I auction at Sothebys in Paris in December last year. The price achieved of EUR 47,880 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been given by the auction house as EUR 40,000 - 60,000. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacques Villon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'Acrobate in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,025,000 (€ 920,521).
