Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Gentleman, Full-Length, In A Landscape by Jacques Sablet was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2021. The price achieved of USD 37,500.00 (€ 31,172.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacques Sablet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Tarantelle: An evening coastal landscape with Neapolitan peasants dancing the Tarantella in April 2005 with an auction result of GBP 456,000.00 (€ 674,946.36).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 31.172,07) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacques Sablet erzielen.
