Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Peasants In A Tavern by Jacques-Philippe Caresme for USD 3,500.00 (€ 3,231.17). This price was achieved in the auction Master Drawings at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacques-Philippe Caresme achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Bacchanal in June 2007 with an auction result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 44,378.70).
