A top price for Jacques-Philippe Caresme - as previously expected
In June 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings and European Works of Art Including Property of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, which included the work A Bacchanal by Jacques-Philippe Caresme. The auction ended at the price of USD 60,000.00 (€ 44,378.70), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A Bacchanal is the most expensive artwork by Jacques-Philippe Caresme that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Juni 2007 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings and European Works of Art Including Property of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Bacchanal von Jacques-Philippe Caresme zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 44.378,70) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist A Bacchanal das teuerste Kunstwerk von Jacques-Philippe Caresme, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
