Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jacques Gamelin could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work The Embarkation Of Louis Ix From Aigues-Mortes changed hands for USD 3,438.00 (€ 2,633.88) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jacques Gamelin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nouveau recueil d'ostologie et de myologie, dessin d'aprs nature ... pour l'utilit des sciences et des arts. Toulouse: J.F. Desclassan, 1779. in June 2013 with an auction result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,529.59).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jacques Gamelin konnte im Januar 2012 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master Drawings wechselte die Arbeit The Embarkation Of Louis Ix From Aigues-Mortes für USD 3.438,00 (€ 2.633,88) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacques Gamelin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nouveau recueil d'ostologie et de myologie, dessin d'aprs nature ... pour l'utilit des sciences et des arts. Toulouse: J.F. Desclassan, 1779. im Juni 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 11.529,59).
