Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jacques Gamelin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in December 2020. In the Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900 auction, the work HECTOR'S BODY, WOUNDED BY AJAX, IS BROUGHT TO THE ZANTHE RIVER sold for EUR 10,080.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 4,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jacques Gamelin; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Nouveau recueil d'ostologie et de myologie, dessin d'aprs nature ... pour l'utilit des sciences et des arts. Toulouse: J.F. Desclassan, 1779. sold at auction in June 2013 with the realized price of USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,529.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jacques Gamelin erzielte im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900 wurde die Arbeit HECTOR'S BODY, WOUNDED BY AJAX, IS BROUGHT TO THE ZANTHE RIVER für EUR 10.080,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 4.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jacques Gamelin; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Nouveau recueil d'ostologie et de myologie, dessin d'aprs nature ... pour l'utilit des sciences et des arts. Toulouse: J.F. Desclassan, 1779. im Juni 2013 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 11.529,59).
