Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Landscape with two figures washing laundry by a river by Jacques Gamelin. The price achieved of USD 2,400.00 (€ 1,846.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jacques Gamelin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nouveau recueil d'ostologie et de myologie, dessin d'aprs nature ... pour l'utilit des sciences et des arts. Toulouse: J.F. Desclassan, 1779. in June 2013 with an auction result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,529.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape with two figures washing laundry by a river von Jacques Gamelin zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.400,00 (€ 1.846,44) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacques Gamelin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nouveau recueil d'ostologie et de myologie, dessin d'aprs nature ... pour l'utilit des sciences et des arts. Toulouse: J.F. Desclassan, 1779. im Juni 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 11.529,59).
