In May 2000 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings from the Lagerfeld Collection, which included the work A wooded landscape with a marble pavillion and fountains, the sea beyond by Jacques de Lajoue. The »bidding war« ended at USD 58,750.00 (€ 62,982.42), 18% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacques de Lajoue - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The interior of a baroque palace with elegant company conversing by fountains, which sold at auction in December 2001 for GBP 91,750.00 (€ 149,906.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings from the Lagerfeld Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit A wooded landscape with a marble pavillion and fountains, the sea beyond von Jacques de Lajoue zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 58.750,00 (€ 62.982,42) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacques de Lajoue mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The interior of a baroque palace with elegant company conversing by fountains beobachtet, die im Dezember 2001 für GBP 91.750,00 (€ 149.906,78) versteigert wurde.
