Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2015 Christies in New York held the auction The I.Q. van Regteren Altena Collection Part IV, which included the work Two studies of a boy's head by Jacques de Gheyn II.. The price achieved of EUR 10,625.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacques de Gheyn II. achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A large beech, partly in leaf in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 1,142,500.00 (€ 1,441,051.72).
