This artwork by Jacques Barraband achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2020. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work Western Parotia Bird Of Paradise (Parotia Sefilata) sold for USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,536.73) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jacques Barraband have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Troisième variété du perroquet cendré - The Grey Parrot - Psittacus erithacus. in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 91,750.00 (€ 145,435.04).

In der Auktion Old Master Drawings wurde die Arbeit Western Parotia Bird Of Paradise (Parotia Sefilata) für USD 25.000,00 (€ 22.536,73) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00.
