This artwork by Jacques Barraband achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2020. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work Male Blue-Throated Barbet (Megalaima Asiatica) sold for USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,648.88) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jacques Barraband have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Troisième variété du perroquet cendré - The Grey Parrot - Psittacus erithacus. in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 91,750.00 (€ 145,435.04).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jacques Barraband erzielte im Januar 2020 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Drawings wurde die Arbeit Male Blue-Throated Barbet (Megalaima Asiatica) für USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.648,88) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacques Barraband auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Troisième variété du perroquet cendré - The Grey Parrot - Psittacus erithacus. im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 91.750,00 (€ 145.435,04).
