Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2001 Christies in London held the auction NATURAL HISTORY, which included the work Cuban Macaw (Plate no. 5, Ara Tricolor, Ara cubensis. Sheet size 19¾ x 12½ inches 502 x 317mm.) by Jacques Barraband. The price achieved of GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,855.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacques Barraband achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Troisième variété du perroquet cendré - The Grey Parrot - Psittacus erithacus. in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 91,750.00 (€ 145,435.04).
