In August 2008 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Australian miners At The Field, Andamooka Series (Triptych) by Jacqueline Hick. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 9,600.00 (€ 5,603.98), 37% above the upper estimate. Other works by Jacqueline Hick have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of AUD 9,225.00 (€ 8,596.59) in May last year for the work A Quiet Drink, 1940s.
