Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Christ Appearing To Doge Pasquale Cicogna by Jacopo Palma was sold in the Old Master Day Sale including Old Master Paintings, Drawings and British Works on Paper auction at Sothebys in London in July 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,903.98) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacopo Palma achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venus wird von Amor gekrönt während Satyrn und eine Nymphe ihr Früchte reichen. in March 2007 with an auction result of CHF 453,500.00 (€ 279,614.25).
